This month’s Birchbox was filled with goodies for looking perfect for Christmas with hair and makeup essentials, but also to refresh and cleanse after all that fun!
Firstly in this months box, I received Huygens Le Gommage Visage Exfoliating cream. This was by far my favourite sample this month! It has a really invigorating, fresh lemon balm scent which really brightens up my face (this is what my face needs almost every morning!).It is also soft enough for everyday use, unlike most other scrubs, which is really nice because you can substitute this instead of you daily face wash.It removes literally everything from your face and it leaves your face feeling so soft it’s impossible not to touch (yes I know that’s really bad but I can’t help it).I also found with this cream that my breakouts have become less and less often.I will most definitely be purchasing the full-size product again.
My next favourite item this month was the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in the shade
Amethyst. This shadow stick is all you really need for an everyday subtle look or even if you wanted to layer it for an elegant evening look. Its creamy texture makes it really easy to apply and it is very long lasting. This shadow stick is also the perfect base for a smokey shadow effect.
Next is the Percy And Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm. This is a hair cream, which is something I have never used before, and so I was slightly sceptical at first. After I used it I still wasn’t sure whether or not this hair cream was for me.I put this in after towel drying, from roots to tips, just as it advises, but I felt as if it left a sort of oily residue in my hair and gave my hair a greasy appearance.I’m not sure if it’s just my hair type that doesn’t take well with this cream or if this is just the normal outcome but on a positive note it does smell lovely.
I also received a sample of Benefit Cosmetics The Porefessionals :Matte Rescue in this months box. Anything with the word matte in the title instantly draws my attention and I already own a few Benefit products so I was really interested to try this one. My skin is slightly oily most days and so this product really helped to eliminate the excess oil. I use it after cleansing and just before applying makeup so it acts as a primer and moisturiser for me and I can say it has definitely become a staple in my everyday makeup routine.
Lastly, in this months box, I received a full sized Caité London Fierce Flicks eyeliner.I don’t use eyeliner that often because of the precision needed that a really just don’t have time for in the mornings but the tip on this eyeliner makes it really easy to apply a quick flick. it also has a really intense shade of black (if that makes any sense).
And that was this month’s Birchbox review.I hope you enjoyed x
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
